Police appeal for information after fatal collision in Audenshaw

Greater Manchester Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit is appealing for information following a fatal road traffic collision in Tameside yesterday afternoon.

At around 12pm on Sunday, 28 September 2025, emergency services were called to reports of a collision on Guide Lane in Audenshaw.

It is believed that the driver of a Kia Rio suffered a medical episode behind the wheel, causing the vehicle to leave the road and collide with the wall of a nearby business property.

Sadly, the driver, a man in his 80s, died on his way to hospital despite the efforts of paramedics.

Police have launched an investigation and are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant footage to come forward.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “We are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or may have CCTV, dashcam, or doorbell footage from the area at the time of the collision. Your information could be vital in helping us establish the full circumstances of this tragic incident.”
