The collision happened on Hyde Road in Gorton last night, 3rd June.
At around 11.45pm on Tuesday 3 June Greater Manchester Police (GMP) were called to reports of a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian on Hyde Road, Gorton.
Emergency services attended the scene and a man in his 30s was taken to hospital with injuries that are believed to be life threatening.
A man in his 50s was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving. He remains in custody for questioning.
GMP’s Serious Collisions Investigations Unit (SCIU) are appealing for witnesses who may have seen this incident, or who may have any dashcam footage, to please come forward.
GMP have told us in a statement that the vehicle involved in the collision was a Volkswagen Transporter.
