NHS heroes take centre stage at annual staff awards

There was applause all round as the winners of Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust’s annual staff awards were announced on Friday 7 November.

The Everyone Matters Awards celebrate the exceptional NHS staff who go above and beyond to improve care for patients and communities across Tameside and Glossop.

Around 200 guests enjoyed a fantastic evening at Smokies in Oldham, where legendary TV and radio presenter Andy Crane once again took to the stage as compere. Andy has hosted the Trust’s annual awards since 2014, bringing warmth and humour to the celebration of local NHS excellence.

This year’s awards saw a record more than 300 nominations, recognising the dedication, innovation and compassion that NHS staff and volunteers show every day. Winners were crowned in 11 categories, reflecting the wide range of skills and teamwork that underpin the Trust’s success.

The 2025 Everyone Matters Award Winners:

  • Volunteer of the Year: Trust Brass Band
  • Education and Learning Award: Intermediate Tier Services Development Team
  • Sustainability and Efficiency Award: Estates Team
    • Highly Commended: Laura Swann
  • Leading and Inspiring Others Award: Christina Rapuano
  • Partnership and Collaborative Working Award: School Nursing Team
  • Service Improvement Award: Rainbow Clinic
  • Our Heroes Award: Janet Williams
  • Everyone Matters Compassion and Care Award: Joint Winners – Mel Dadkhah-Taeidy and Nicola Hopkins
  • Great Patient Experience Award: Fatima Salik
  • Support Team of the Year: Medical Records Team
  • Clinical Team of the Year: Health Visiting Team
    • Highly Commended: Cancer Nurse Specialist Team
