New padel venue set to open in Stalybridge with launch party celebration

A brand-new sport and social hotspot is arriving in Tameside this month, as Glass Padel prepares to officially open its doors with a launch event on Saturday, 28 March.

Located at Unit 1, Stalybridge Industrial Park on Stanley Street, the new venue is set to bring one of the UK’s fastest-growing sports to the heart of the community. Combining elements of tennis and squash, padel has surged in popularity in recent years, and Glass Padel aims to make the game accessible to players of all abilities.

To mark the occasion, organisers are hosting a launch party packed with activity throughout the day. Courts will be available to book from as early as 6am, giving eager players the chance to be among the first to play at the new facility.

From 2pm, the atmosphere will shift into celebration mode, with music provided by Dusk 7 DJ, creating a lively backdrop for an afternoon of sport and socialising. Visitors can expect a mix of games, entertainment and the official opening ceremony, making it a family-friendly event for both seasoned players and newcomers curious to try something different.

Attendees can also expect a food and beer van to go alongside the games and music.

Bookings for the courts will be managed via the Playtomic app and are available to book from Wednesday 25th March, with access set to go live very soon. Organisers are encouraging people to keep an eye out for the booking link in the coming days.

Glass Padel’s arrival marks an exciting addition to Tameside’s leisure scene, offering a fresh way for local residents to stay active, connect with others and experience a sport that continues to grow across the UK.

The launch event takes place on Saturday, 28 March at Unit 1, Stalybridge Industrial Park, 7 Stanley Street, SK15 1SS.
