An adventurous Jack Russell has been rescued by Buxton Mountain Rescue Team (MRT) after becoming stuck near Waterswallows Quarry.
The little explorer, Nelly, ventured off the beaten track while following scents just outside Peak Dale at lunchtime on Friday October 25.
“Luckily, her human called for assistance, and our dog loving team members were thrilled to lend a paw (or two!),” said a statement from the rescuers.
“After a swift and safe rescue, Nelly was back with her human, wagging her tail and undoubtedly dreaming about her next big adventure.”
The unique call-out came two days before Buxton MRT celebrated its 60th anniversary with a gala dinner at the town’s Crescent Hotel, which coincided with the annual Mountain Rescue Awareness Day.
