A motorcyclist faces a trial after pleading not guilty to three charges involving dangerous driving, driving without a licence and failing to provide a specimen.
Anthony Woods of Barley Croft Road, Hyde, denied pulling a wheelie along Ashton Road in the town before crashing into a car at a junction.
Woods was injured in the collision and couldn’t bend his knee to sit in the dock at Tameside Magistrates’ Court.
He claimed that as youths often pull wheelies along Ashton Road, police were mistaken in thinking he had done the same.
Prosecutors also say he refused to give consent to officers taking a blood sample.
Woods, who walked with a pronounced limp at the hearing, admitted to riding the bike without insurance.
Magistrates released him on unconditional bail ahead of a trial in March 2026.
