Mossley is preparing to sparkle once again as the much-loved Christmas Tree Festival returns to Mossley Community Centre and St John the Baptist Church, Roughtown Road, from Friday 5th to Sunday 7th December.
The event has become a firm favourite in the town’s festive calendar, drawing families, friends, and visitors from across Tameside.
This year’s festival promises a winter wonderland of more than 35 beautifully decorated Christmas trees, each created by local groups, schools, charities and businesses. Described by past visitors as “a truly magical community event”, the festival aims to bring people together in celebration of creativity and Christmas spirit.
Admission to both venues is free, with ramped access available, ensuring everyone can enjoy the displays.
The festival will be opened 3:30pm until 8pm Friday, 1pm until 7pm Saturday and 11am and 3pm Sunday.
Across the weekend, visitors can enjoy live music and entertainment at both venues, adding to the festive atmosphere. Seasonal refreshments will also be on offer, including mulled wine, cider, and a welcoming café serving seasonal treats.
For families, there’s plenty of fun to be had with the Name the Elf competition, a Chocolate Tombola, the popular Adopt a Bear Tombola, and a Christmas Hamper Raffle.
The festival will draw to a heart-warming close with Community Carol Singing inside St John the Baptist Church on Sunday at 3pm, bringing together voices from across the local area to celebrate the season.
