Mossley by-election date confirmed

A by-election for the Mossley Town Council Lancashire Ward will be held on March 27.

The vacancy became available following the resignation of parish councillor Bev Bennet last month.

The parish by-election is for the Lancashire Ward of Mossley Town Council only and will involve approximately 2,500 voters in the town.

Everyone registered and eligible to vote in the by-election will receive a poll card through the post by 17 March.

They can also check if they live in the Mossley Parish Lancashire ward at www.tameside.gov.uk/councillorsanddemocracy/elections/mossley-parish-election

Nominations for candidates will open on February 21 and close at 4pm on Friday, February 28.

Anyone not already registered to vote needs to register before 11 March to vote in the by-election.

The deadline for applying for a postal vote is 5pm 12 March and applications for proxy votes must be made by 5pm on 19 March.

Polling Stations will open at 7am on March 27, and close at 10pm.
