A 37-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder and possession of a knife after a nurse was stabbed.
The nurse is in critical condition after sustaining ‘life changing’ injuries following the stabbing on Saturday night.
The woman in her 50s was attacked at 11:30pm in the acute medical unit at Royal Oldham Hospital and her injuries have been described as 'life changing'.
Now Rumon Haque from Royton, in Oldham, has been charged with attempted murder and possession of a bladed article. He has been remanded to custody to appear at Manchester Magistrates Court tomorrow (Tuesday).
Det Supt Matt Walker from Greater Manchester Police's Oldham district said: “Our thoughts are with the nurse as she continues to receive treatment in hospital for her injuries, and our priority remains supporting her, her family, and her colleagues at this difficult time.
“We continue to work closely with our NHS colleagues to support anyone who has been affected by this incident.
