Hundreds invited to explore opportunities at Tameside spring jobs fair

Hundreds of residents from across Tameside will have the chance to explore new employment opportunities when the Spring Jobs Fair returns next month.

The free event will take place at Dukinfield Town Hall on Wednesday, April 1, from 10am to 1pm, with local employers, training providers and support services all under one roof to help people take the next step in their careers.

Organised by Tameside Council’s Employment and Skills team, the fair is open to residents of all ages and will offer a wide range of live vacancies that attendees can apply for on the day.

Held twice a year, the Jobs Fair aims to connect local talent with employers while also providing practical support for people looking to enter work, change careers or improve their skills.

Opportunities will span a variety of sectors and include both full-time and part-time roles. Alongside employers, several organisations will also be offering training and upskilling options.

Residents will also be able to access specialist support services, including the ‘Tameside In Work’ programme, which helps employees progress in their careers, and the ‘Routes to Work’ supported employment service.

Visitors can receive one-to-one guidance including CV advice, help with job applications and interview preparation to give them the best chance of securing a role.

A number of well-known organisations have already confirmed their attendance, including Tameside & Glossop NHS, Hyde Group, Metroline, the Army Royal Artillery and several teams from Tameside Council.

The event is designed to bring together employers with people actively seeking work, helping businesses find local talent while supporting residents into employment.

Councillor Leanne Feeley, Tameside Council’s Executive Member for Lifelong Learning and Culture, said she was delighted to see the event return.

“I’m thrilled that the Jobs Fair is returning after the huge success of previous events,” she said.

“I encourage anyone interested to take advantage of the valuable opportunity to speak directly with employers and receive advice from experts.

“Come along and let us support you in finding a role perfect for you.”

Residents can drop in at any time between 10am and 1pm at Dukinfield Town Hall, SK16 4LA.
