Glossop's indie pop favourites The Bodines are back under the spotlight as a record company prepares to re-release their most famous single.
Therese - which was featured on the New Musical Express's C86 compilation launched the band to stardom while the tape launched an entire musical genre.
Dubbed members of the C86 generation, The Bodines were on Creation records - later to launch Oasis to stardom - before signing with a major label and losing support from independent music fans.
Now the single is to be re-released on seven inch vinyl by Optic Nerve records in March.
In 2023, Mojo magazine ranked the song "Therese" as the 37th greatest UK indie record ever, calling it "a breathless romantic gulp of twin guitar twirl.
The Bodines formed in 1985 and comprised guitarist Paul Brotherton, bassist Tim Burwood, drummer John Rowlands, and guitarist/vocalist Michael Ryan.
They released one album - Played - before breaking up in 1990.
