Georgie Porgies cafe at King George V Playing Fields in Ashton will be closed until next year due to a shortage of volunteers.
However, Alan Fish, the chairman of the group which runs the cafe, vowed to return in the New Year.
He said: "Sadly, the Friends of King George V Playing Fields have closed Georgie Porgies cafe last weekend, as not many people came to the cafe and a lack of volunteers to staff the weekends and school holidays.
"We will open again next year. We just need some more volunteers to join our group for next year, we can also get volunteers a Level 2 in Catering course so they can help us out in the cafe.
"Our Horticultural, Maintenance and BeeTeams will still be meeting occasionally over the winter.
"The Management Christmas meeting is on December 4 at 7pm. Call in and find out how you could help to make King Georges a better place. The Rubbish Pool Club will be meeting at the earlier time of 5.00pm on Tuesday, December 12, to litter pick and play pool."
