A historic Tameside venue is inviting the community to come together this Easter Monday for a day of family fun, fundraising and fresh beginnings.
Ridge Hill Lane Working Men’s Club, founded in 1861, will host a Family Fun Day on Monday 6th April from 12pm to 6pm, as part of a wider effort to modernise the club and attract a new generation of members.
The plans have been driven by new committee member Stace Cotterell, who is leading a major refurbishment project set to take place over the coming weeks. The work will see the club fully redecorated inside and out, with new lighting, a complete electrical rewire, fresh carpeting and blinds, as well as the addition of large screen TVs.
Local businesses have rallied behind the project, donating both materials and their time to help transform the venue. A series of fundraising efforts, including raffles and football cards, have been building up to the Easter event.
The Family Fun Day promises something for everyone, with music, a quiz, bingo, tombola, killer pool, games, a cake and sweet stall, and free food available. Entertainment on the day will be provided by local DJ Chris Nash, who is donating his time to support the cause.
