The list of candidates standing in the forthcoming Gorton and Denton by-election has now been confirmed.
The by-election was triggered after the constituency’s long-standing MP, Andrew Gwynne, stepped down following his involvement in the so-called “Trigger Me Timber” scandal last year. Gwynne, who had represented the area for several years, resigned citing health reasons last month.
With the seat now vacant, parties across the political spectrum have moved quickly to put forward their candidates.
The election will give residents of Gorton and Denton the opportunity to shape the future representation of the constituency at Westminster, at a time when local and national issues remain firmly in the public spotlight.
