Guide Bridge Conservative Club in Ashton-under-Lyne was filled with festive cheer and fresh musical talent on Thursday 18th December 2025, as it hosted a lively Christmas Party in partnership with Gigg Link.
The event provided a platform for a number of up-and-coming artists to audition and perform live on stage, with the aim of securing future bookings across local venues. The evening proved to be a great success, attracting club representatives, concert secretaries and music lovers from across the borough.
Gigg Link, run by Angela Wild, is a growing initiative that connects performers with clubs, pubs and agencies who are actively looking for new talent. By creating relaxed, live audition environments, the platform helps venues discover acts that might otherwise go unnoticed.
Among those in attendance was Leon Tamcken, Chairman of the local Waterloo and Taunton Conservative Club, who praised the impact of the scheme. He said: “The Gig Link events have been brilliant, with us already booking three new artists for our own club. The Christmas party night was no exception.”
The party also welcomed attendees from several neighbouring venues, including Stanley Square Conservative Club and St Peters Social Club, highlighting the strong sense of collaboration between local clubs in supporting live entertainment.
Guide Bridge Conservative Club also took the opportunity to extend special thanks to club stewardess Caroline Sweeney, whose hard work and attention to detail transformed the venue with stunning Christmas decorations, helping to create a warm and festive atmosphere for performers and guests alike.
