Last Saturday, the streets of Hyde were filled with festive cheer as the community came together for the annual Santa Dash 5K Run and 2K Walk in aid of Purple Heart Wishes.
The event, organised in partnership with local estate agents EweMove, saw runners and walkers of all ages take part, supported by marshals along the route. Participants gathered on Market Street before heading off together following a safety briefing and warm-up.
While the event brought plenty of Christmas fun, its main aim was to raise funds for Purple Heart Wishes, a UK charity that grants wishes to adults living with terminal or life-limiting illnesses, helping them create meaningful memories with loved ones.
Founded in memory of a young woman named Lyndsey, the charity supports people aged 18 to 55 and relies entirely on donations, volunteers and community fundraising events like the Santa Dash.
