The Anthony Seddon Fund officially launched the festive season last weekend as its much-loved annual Christmas Fair returned to Ashton-under-Lyne.
The event, held on Saturday 29th November at the charity’s base on George Street, welcomed crowds from 11am to 3pm for a day of family fun, festive treats and community spirit, all in support of the charity’s vital mental health work across Tameside.
The fair once again proved a hit with families, with Santa’s Grotto among the most popular attractions. Children had the chance to meet Father Christmas and take home a special gift, with the pre-booked slots quickly filling up ahead of the day.
Visitors enjoyed browsing a wide range of festive stalls, clothing stands and craft tables run by local businesses and makers. Handmade gifts, seasonal decorations and unique Christmas presents filled the venue, offering something for everyone.
Food and drink also played a big part in the festivities. A charity bake sale tempted guests with cakes and sweet treats, while hot dogs, mulled wine, fancy hot chocolates and mince pies kept everyone fuelled throughout the afternoon. Seasonal music added to the atmosphere, bringing warmth, nostalgia and plenty of Christmas cheer.
Alongside the stalls and refreshments, the fair featured a bustling raffle, tombola and lucky dip with a selection of prizes on offer. Visitors were also able to enjoy relaxing hand-massage sessions, while younger attendees got creative in the kids’ colouring competition, with a grand prize awarded for the best picture of the day.
All funds raised from the event will go directly towards supporting The Anthony Seddon Fund’s ongoing work, including mental health support, wellbeing services and community activities across Tameside.
