Cosmo Bingo, in Stalybridge, launch their Willow Wood Hospice weekend, on the 23rd May, with the return of the Singing Sumos.

Cosmo Bingo is a long-term sponsor of the hospice and will have the Sumos in attendance on Friday, Saturday & Sunday evenings over the May Bank Holiday.

The Sumos, Brian Wild and Chris Smith, have been fundraising for the hospice for over 20 years.

Former Tameside mayor and Dukinfield councillor, Brian Wild said: "Cosmo Bingo have been very helpful over the years as we raise money for Willow Wood Hospice and the Sumo’s will be reading out the numbers and testing Cosmo customers with the notorious ‘gong’ game’.

"People can have a laugh and some fun as we raise much needed funds for the hospice. Hospices are a crucial provider of care for dying people and government funding averages around 24% of Willow Wood Hospice total costs. The hospice relies on fundraising, charity shops, donations, legacies and grants for the rest."

Cosmo Bingo General Manager at Stalybridge Keith Lee said, "Many of our customers’ lives have been touched by the wonderful work of Willow Wood Hospice. We are so proud to be able to contribute to the Sumo’s fund-raising efforts and our customers will be able to have lots of laughter as the Sumo’s get up to their antics’, even if it’s the Sumo’s last gig before their retirement."
