Ellie, the landlady of the Halfway House pub in Droylsden, is taking charity fundraising to the next level, and she’s doing it in fancy dress.
On 25th July, Ellie will lace up her walking boots and take on a full marathon, covering over 26 miles by foot. But this isn’t your average charity walk, Ellie’s route will take her around a number of Joseph Holt pubs, and she’ll be doing it all in costume to help raise a smile and more importantly, funds, for a worthy cause.
The money raised will go to Wood Street Mission, a Manchester-based children’s charity that supports families living on a low income in Manchester and Salford. With one in three children in Manchester currently living in poverty, the support provided by Wood Street Mission is more vital than ever.
Locals are encouraged to cheer Ellie on if they see her out on the day!
