Copley Academy celebrates exceptional GCSE success

Copley Academy is celebrating a remarkable year of student achievement following the release of this summer’s GCSE and vocational qualification results.

The school has reported a significant rise in attainment compared to 2024, with an impressive 5% of students securing the highest possible grade - Grade 9.

This year’s results are particularly meaningful given that nearly a third of Copley students have overcome challenging educational journeys, including moving between schools and countries. Their achievements stand as a powerful testament to their resilience and determination.

“We are immensely proud of all the achievements of our students,” said Principal Ruth Craven. “They have shown resilience, adaptability, and a commitment to learning - skills and qualities that will serve them well in the future. Staff at Copley Academy have worked tirelessly to ensure every student has the opportunity to succeed and progress onto further study and education. We are excited to see what they go on to accomplish in the years ahead.”

Among the top performers are Tia Hadfield, Charlie Biard, Sadie Gooch, Taryn Kirkham, and Franklin Ukpan, all of whom secured the highest grades across their subjects. The academy also recognised a number of students for exceptional personal progress, including Sarah Saidi, Nicole Greenough, Finlay Pinnock, Maisie Kelly, Nadine Longden, Christos Latoudis, Kian Sutherland and Ella Clegg.
