Local services will be on hand for Tameside residents at a community support event in Droylsden.
Hosted by Tameside Adults Safeguarding Partnership Board (TASPB), the event at St Martin’s Church promotes services for people can reach out to for support to keep safe and well.
The event takes place on Tuesday the 10 of June from 12 noon until 2pm. Services who will be there on the day include Tameside Adult services, Tameside Family Hubs, Greater Manchester Police, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, Active Tameside, Age UK, Jigsaw Homes and more.
June 15th is World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD), a day raising awareness on the millions of older adults who experience elder abuse, neglect, and financial exploitation. The organisations who are part of TASPB are working in partnership to support WEAAD. This event aims to raise awareness and engage residents and professionals with local support to keep them safe and well in Tameside.
Tameside Council Executive Member for Adult Social Care Cllr John Taylor said: ‘’Getting support out into the heart of our communities and raising awareness of elder abuse is vital. Please come along to find out more about support to keep you and your family safe and well by talking to local services and organisations.’’
