A man has been charged with two counts of rape and three of sexual assault after a woman was attacked in Hyde at the weekend.
Twenty four-year-old Brandon Smith, of Larch Road, Denton, was remanded in custody and will be appearing at Tameside Magistrates Court tomorrow.
Det Insp Christopher Dean, from Greater Manchester Police's Tameside district, said: “All reports of incidents such as this are taken with the utmost seriousness by officers and I hope this charge demonstrates the urgency with which we’ve worked to secure an outcome.
“I would like to thank members of the public for their support and the victim for her bravery as we continue to support her throughout this investigation.”
