The laughs are coming back bigger than ever as the Stalybridge Comedy Weekender returns for its second year, following a hugely successful debut last year.
Taking place at Victoria Market Hall (formerly Stalybridge Civic Hall), the two-night comedy spectacular in July (17 & 18) will bring a packed line-up of top UK comedians and headline acts right to the heart of Stalybridge.
With household names, award-winners, and TV favourites all on one bill, this is set to be one of the standout live events in Tameside this year. Audiences can expect a high-energy weekend of comedy featuring stars of Taskmaster, Live at the Apollo, The Chase, Celebrity Traitors and more.
Each evening features four top acts hosted by some of the UK’s most exciting and in-demand MCs:
- Friday night will be hosted by Danny McLoughlin, with Scott Bennett, Justin Moorhouse and The Chase star Paul Sinha headlining a night packed with proven crowd-pleasers.
- Saturday night sees Phil Ellis host, with Amy Gledhill, Josh Pugh and Taskmaster favourite Lucy Beaumont closing the weekend with her brilliantly offbeat style.
Between them, acts have racked up major TV credits, award wins, and sell-out tours, guaranteeing two nights of consistently top-quality stand-up.
Following a successful pilot programme of events last year including fantastic sell out comedy, live music and cultural experiences, the Weekender marks the continued revival of Stalybridge Victoria Hall as a vibrant events venue attracting both local and regional audiences and shining a spotlight on the town’s growing cultural offer.
Julian Jackson, Director of Housing, Environment & Estates said: “We are delighted to welcome the Stalybridge Comedy Weekender back after such a fantastic first year. It is brilliant to see Victoria Market Hall hosting such high-quality live entertainment, bringing people into the town, and supporting our local economy. With such a strong line-up of well-known acts, this year’s event promises to be even bigger and better, and we cannot wait to see audiences enjoying a great night out in Stalybridge.”
With just 250 seats available each night, tickets are expected to sell quickly. Tickets will go on sale at 12 noon on Friday 29 May, so comedy fans are urged to be ready and book early to avoid missing out on a weekend of unmissable live laughs.
The doors will be opening at 7.30pm and shows starting at 8.15pm, audiences can enjoy a full evening of top stand-up, with tickets priced at just £20.
Tickets will be available on www.intameside.co.uk/comedyweekender
