A man has been charged with multiple counts of rape and sexual assault following allegations made by another man in Audenshaw.
Greater Manchester Police have confirmed that a 20-year-old man from Tameside has been charged with a series of sexual offences against a man in his 30s, with incidents alleged to have taken place since October this year.
Hmdan Mensor, born on January 1, 2005, of Audenshaw, has been charged with seven counts of rape and three counts of sexual assault by touching. He has been remanded into custody.
Police said Mensor was arrested on December 21 after officers received a report of a rape at an address in Audenshaw on the same day. Following his arrest, further allegations were disclosed.
Officers have confirmed that the two men are known to each other and that no other suspects are being sought in connection with the investigation. The man who made the report is currently being supported by specialist teams while enquiries continue.
Detective Chief Inspector Abdul Kahar, from GMP’s Tameside district, said: “This is naturally a disturbing report to receive, and we are working to establish the full circumstances of the allegations, as well as to ensure all available evidence is secured.
“We quickly secured an arrest once the report was made to us and are supporting the man who disclosed these allegations throughout this difficult process.
“Criminal proceedings in this case are now active, and it is important that people do not speculate about this case to avoid jeopardising legal proceedings.”
