Ashton club Waterloo & Taunton shortlisted for national awards

Waterloo and Taunton Conservative Club, Ashton-under-Lyne is in the running for the National Club Mirror Awards.

The popular club, a hub of social activity in the heart of the community, is in the running for a series of awards after 135 years of service, including the Stewardess, Caroline Thistleton, who has been nominated for Manager of the Year.

The club is up for a People's Choice Award for Committee of the Year which recognises exceptional leadership, governance, and dedication shown by a club's committee, and
the 100 Club Award, for those clubs that have been established for a century or longer.

Club Mirror has been the voice of clubland for nearly 60 years, championing venues across the UK. The Club Mirror Awards were launched in 1992 and are the only awards dedicated entirely to the club sector—celebrating excellence, innovation, and community spirit.

The red carpet awards night will be held in November at Leicester’s Athena events venue with TV presenter and sports pundit Craig Doyle as the host.

Club Chairman Leon Tamcken who heads up the hardworking team said "Its fantastic to be recognised and to reach the final. The team gives up hours of their own free time every week to run our club, working tirelessly behind the scenes, so our members can have a good time".

Founded in 1891, Waterloo and Taunton Conservative Club remains at the heart of the community with a thriving membership.
