Police are appealing for the public's help after a cyclist's bike was stolen by three men armed with ‘a large knife’ on the Peak Forest Canal.
The robbery happened just after 7pm on Monday, August 12, as the rider travelled along the towpath from Whaley Bridge towards New Mills.
“The offenders crossed a metal bridge and onto an unmanned level crossing towards A6 Furness Vale,” said a statement from Derbyshire Police.
“One male then rode the bike on to the rail tracks towards Whaley Bridge.”
Detectives are searching for a distinctive taupe and acid green Specialized 2019 Turbo Levo Comp, a type of e-mountain bike, and would like eyewitnesses or anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage to come forward.
People can contact the force by calling the non-emergency 101 number, using the online contact form, or sending a message to their Facebook page.
