Tameside club chairman takes top North West role

Local Conservative Club Chairman, Leon Tamcken, from Waterloo and Taunton Conservative Club has been awarded a top job, heading up the Association of Conservative Clubs Ltd as the North West Association Chairman.

Leon who has overseen the committee at the club in Ashton-under-Lyne since 2014, has been selected to represent 130 clubs throughout the North West of England including Conservative, Constitutional, Beaconsfield, Sailsbury and Unionist Club's.

The Association of Conservative Clubs Ltd (ACC) is a proud network of private members’ clubs across the UK, dedicated to upholding traditional values, fostering community spirit, and providing a welcoming environment for social engagement.

Leon said "Its a fantastic honour to be able to fly the flag for our amazing clubs who do so much in their local areas, including fundraising for charities, in what at times has been a difficult trading period for the hospitality sector. In Tameside our clubs have been working closely together to go from strength to strength".

Leon was made Chairman during the North West Advisory Council Meeting held at the Stalyward Number 2 Club, Stalybridge, and follows in the footsteps of Councillor John Hudson OBE from Saddleworth who has retired after 24 years at the helm.
