Joe Makes Noise
Artist of the week on Tameside Radio's Local Music Spotlight feature is 'Joe Makes Noise'. Joe Makes Noise is the solo project of singer, guitarist and songwriter Joe Maguire, originally from South Yorkshire but now settled in Audenshaw.
His influences come from the likes of Frank Turner to punk legends such as The Clash, Buzzcocks, and Green Day. His songs are simple and catchy with great melodies and tongue in cheek lyrics, a jangly rhythm sound, distorted guitars, prominent basslines and plenty of shouty hooks. Joe has been fronting bands since the mid 2000's and played many gigs at iconic venues such as Manchester's Night & Day and Salford's Eagle Inn.
He's already had a good amount of radio exposure, supported The Pigeon Detectives, and had several songs feature on a Pete Doherty documentary. Looking to the future, Joe will continue to release new material and has hopes of producing the next instantly infectious sing-along hit. Joe Makes Noise will be playing live at The Guide Bridge Theatre on Friday 19th April, tickets are available from www.gbtheatre.co.uk.
You can find his music on Spotify and all good music streaming sites. Joe Makes Noise will be played on every weekday show on Tameside Radio between 6am and 7pm all of next week. He also joined the team on The Dave Sweetmore Show last Monday night, you can listen again via the OnDemand section of the website.
