Foxglove

From Monday 11th November onwards, our band of the week on Tameside Radio's Local Music Spotlight feature are Foxglove. Consisting of Abi White with her stunning vocals, Ryan Croney, Liam Croney and Joe Myers, the band have been described as "one of Manchester’s finest musical exports of recent times" bursting on to the Northern music scene with an unforgettable debut, opening the main stage at Neighbourhood Weekender in 2022.

Their performance marked the beginning of a meteoric rise, quickly followed by a set at Kendal Calling and the premiere of their debut single "Run" on BBC Radio 1’s Future Alternative show. The year culminated in a sold-out headline show at Manchester's 33 Oldham St music venue, cementing their status as one of the city’s most promising acts.

Foxglove’s debut EP, 'Tell Me A Story', has gained significant attention, with airplay on many National and Local radio stations, further establishing their presence in the indie music scene. Hailing from the outskirts of Greater Manchester, the band draws deep inspiration from the 1990's bands and the decades dance anthems that defined their youth. This influence is evident in their music, which blends euphoric melodies with lyrics that explore themes of nostalgia, youth, and the complexities of growing up.

Foxglove’s sound is both a tribute to their roots and a fresh take on the genre, resonating with listeners who share their love for the golden era of indie and dance music. The band are currently back in the studio to work on their second EP, as well as playing several shows including in Manchester on Saturday November 16th when they play at Gullivers. Foxglove and their music will be played on every daytime show on Tameside Radio from 6am on Monday.
