Chris Bridgett

From Monday 2nd December onwards, artist of the week on Tameside Radio's Local Music Spotlight feature is Chris Bridgett. Chris is a well known and respected time served singer, songwriter and guitarist from Manchester who in his early career was guitarist in legendary Manchester bands Dub Sex and Rude Club. After some years away from the music scene, Chris reappeared in 2014 with a reformed Dub Sex, and then went on to form 'The G-O-D' taking on the guitar and front man role. The G-O-D went onto support The Stone Roses at Wembley Stadium in 2017. In 2018 Chris formed Cold Water Swimmers, again on guitar and vocals. His songwriting took centre stage on their debut album Holiday at The Secret Lake, an album which gained critical acclaim and a top ten album of the year from highly respected music magazine 'Louder than War'. In 2023 Chris went solo, playing his acoustic punk shows to an growing audience and fanbase, and released his debut solo album 'Speedboat on Chapel Street' in September 2024. A talented, sensitive and insightful songwriter Chris, is now back in the studio and planning new releases and shows for 2025, which will include an appearance at the Shiiine On Festival in Skegness in the spring of 2025.
