A woman has sadly died after collapsing in Hyde town centre.
Greater Manchester Police said they received a call at 7am on Tuesday morning (20 December) to reports that a woman had collapsed in Hyde town centre.
A spokesperson added: "Sadly, on arrival, officers were unable to revive her and she passed away. Next of kin are in the process of being informed."
A forensic tent and cordon is in place in the market square, close to the White Lion pub, for several hours.
No more details about the woman have yet been released.
