Tribute to youth drama group founder

Jean Nash.

One of the original founders of Tameside Youth Drama, Jean Nash, has sadly passed away.

Jean founded the group with her late husband Dennis in 1986.

The group first met at Ryecroft Hall in Audenshaw with the original aim of providing young people with something to do.

In a statement, the group described Jean as their ‘backbone’ who will be greatly missed, saying: “Jean passed away suddenly after a short illness, peacefully on Thursday, February 3.

“As many of you know Jean was a strong, fearless lady who was loved by many. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.”

A celebration of her life will take place at Dukinfield Crematorium on February 21, at 3pm.
