The Power of Resilience CIC, based in Stalybridge, has been honoured with a High Sheriff’s Special Recognition Award, celebrating the organisation’s exceptional contribution to community wellbeing, inclusion, and resilience.
High Sheriff Awards across the UK recognise charities and voluntary groups whose work enriches local communities, supports vulnerable people, and strengthens social cohesion. This year’s awards highlighted organisations delivering innovative, nature-based, creative, and therapeutic support themes that align closely with the work of The Power of Resilience CIC.
The award acknowledges the organisation’s impact in supporting neurodiverse children, families facing hardship, and adults rebuilding confidence through a blend of creative workshops, therapeutic gardening, community cooking, and practical resilience-building activities.
Executive Director Julie Mallinson said: “This award is a testament to the incredible strength and spirit of our community. Every person who walks through our doors brings their own story of resilience, and we’re honoured to walk alongside them. This recognition belongs to our volunteers, families, partners, and every child and adult who has found a place to grow with us.”
