The Boys’ Brigade Manchester Battalion will hold its Annual Church Parade in Denton this Sunday, 26 April 2026, bringing together young people and leaders from Companies across the Manchester area.
Participants will assemble at Fountains Square (the former Market Square) at 10am before parading through the town accompanied by the Battalion Band. The route will take in Manchester Road, Acre Street, Cooke Street and Stockport Road, arriving at Hope United Reformed Church at approximately 10.50am for the parade service.
Following the service, which is expected to conclude at around 12 noon, members will return to Civic Square where the band will perform briefly before the parade is formally dismissed. Several dignitaries are also expected to attend the service.
This year’s parade marks a welcome return to Denton after several years being held in central Manchester. With two local Companies, the 1st Denton and 2nd Denton based at Hope United Reformed Church and Denton Methodist Church respectively, the event offers an opportunity to highlight the work of the Boys’ Brigade within the local community.
The Boys’ Brigade has a long-standing presence in Denton, with a Company established in the town since 1900.
