A man has been charged with possession of an offensive weapon in a public place after reports of a someone wielding a machete on yesterday.
Gareth Weston, 33, of Lines Road in Droylsden, was arrested by armed police after a manhunt in Medlock Vale on Sunday evening.
He will appear before Tameside Magistrates’ Court on Thursday June 19, although a spokesperson for GMP couldn’t confirm whether Weston had been bailed or remanded.
