Community safety and police officers ran information stalls across Tameside during Anti‑Social Behaviour (ASB) Awareness Week, which ran from 29 June to 5 July.
Tameside Council partnered with Greater Manchester Police (GMP) to talk to local residents and offer advice, support, and guidance around ASB. The stalls aimed to help residents understand where to get help and how to report concerns effectively, ensuring appropriate action can be taken.
The teams covered a wide range of ASB‑related issues and distributed leaflets and booklets providing information on scams, reporting off‑road bikes, and advice on mediation with anti‑social neighbours.
An outreach van also attended Hyde Market. Foundation 92 provides mobile youth provision across Tameside, funded by the Tameside Community Safety Partnership, aimed at reducing youth-related ASB and supporting young people to make safer, more positive life choices.
Fly‑tipping teams also carried out targeted clear‑ups, successfully gathering evidence that will support further prosecutions.
Tameside Council Executive Member for Towns, Transport and Connectivity, Cllr Stephen Homer said: “It’s great to see our officers talking to residents and ensuring they feel confident in reporting and responding to cases of anti‑social behaviour. The team work hard to connect with as many people as possible, helping to create a safer and more supportive Tameside.”
