On Saturday 6th June 2026, Market Avenue, Ashton Town Centre and the surrounding streets will erupt with colour, music, and community spirit for Street Life: Episode IV – A New Hope.
This all-day event is completely free, inviting everyone to take part in a full-scale celebration of local pride, creativity and resilience.
More than just a festival, Street Life is a bold movement. a promise that Ashton’s best days are ahead. The team behind Tameside Official hopes this year’s theme will resonate with that idea of “a new hope,” capturing the optimism and forward-thinking energy bubbling within the town.
Visitors can expect a galaxy’s worth of fun, with celebrity guests, movie props, and cinematic magic turning the streets into an open-air spectacle. Live music performances and DJ sets will keep the vibe high from morning till late, while street entertainers and costume crews bring unexpected surprises to every corner. Families are warmly welcome, with kids’ activities and interactive shows designed to keep little ones smiling.
Food lovers will be spoiled for choice thanks to street food vendors, pop-up bars, and craft drink stalls, all showcasing Ashton’s finest local makers and independent traders. Meanwhile, those who love a good browse can explore market stalls packed with unique handmade treasures, creative designs, and vintage finds.
