A welcoming community initiative in Stalybridge is opening its doors to new members, offering vital support and companionship for those living with dementia and their carers.
St George’s Dementia Café, based on Church Walk, runs on the first and third Fridays of each month from 11:30am to 2:00pm. The café provides a warm, friendly environment where guests can enjoy a hot lunch, engaging entertainment, and most importantly, a supportive space to connect with others who understand the challenges of dementia.
Organiser, Christine Crabtree say the café is about more than just activities. It offers a listening ear, emotional support, and a sense of community for both individuals with dementia and those who care for them.
There are currently a limited number of places available for new members. Guests must have a formal diagnosis of dementia and attend with a carer.
There is no charge to attend, although donations are welcomed to help support the running of the café.
Anyone interested in joining is encouraged to contact Chris on 07714 235736 to book a place or find out more.
