Police launch appeal for information following fatal road traffic collision

A pensioner who was rushed to hospital following a road traffic collision on Thursday has sadly died.

Police were called to the collision on Huddersfield Road in Stalybridge at around 2.40pm.

It is believed a Toyota Yaris was turning off the main road and collided with the pedestrian, aged 79.

The driver remained on scene, and no arrests have been made.

The Serious Collision Investigation Unit is appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.

They are keen to speak to anyone who may have CCTV footage, dashcam or mobile phone footage from the area in the moments leading up to the incident.
