Police appeal after cyclist is killed in collision

Driver bailed as detectives continue investigation into fatal incident

Police are appealing for information following the death of a cyclist in Dukinfield.

Greater Manchester Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) launched the appeal following a collision between a car and bicycle on Monday, August 3.

Officers were called to the tragedy on Yew Tree Lane shortly before 1pm.

Emergency services attended, but sadly a man in his 50s was pronounced dead at the scene.

A man in his 20s was initially arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving, but has since been bailed.

Police are appealing for anyone with information, dashcam, CCTV, doorbell or mobile phone footage from the area to contact them as their investigation continues.
