Denton is playing host to a Greater Manchester first after the installation of a 'Parisian-style' zebra crossing.
It’s been painted on the road at the junction of Peel Street and Manchester Road.
The new zebra crossing differs from the usual design in that it is situated on the junction instead of set back.
These types of implied crossings are common in Europe and aim to make streets safer for pedestrians.
It's been installed by Tameside Council in partnership with Transport for Greater Manchester.
