'The trip of a lifetime' was how 1st Dane Bank (St George's) Scout Lewis Howe described his experience at the World Jamboree in Australia in 1988.
Despite rough storms Down Under on the closing day, Lewis thoroughly enjoyed himself, adding that his high expectations of the country and its people had been more than fulfilled.
Seeing in the New Year with thousands of Scouts at Cataract Park, the Jamboree venue near Sydney was one of his personal highlights, as well as making many new friends from all over the world.
