Mossley's popular Daisy Hunt has returned

Families across Mossley are being invited to go hunting for flowers as a popular community treasure hunt returns to the town.

Local funeral director Anthony Barton has brought back the Daisy Hunt, hiding colourful daisies at locations around the area for residents to discover. Anyone who finds a daisy can take it to Anthony Barton Independent Family Funeral Service on Stamford Street, opposite the Community Fire Station, where it can be exchanged for a prize. But the daisies are not the only things waiting to be found.

Three special sunflowers have also been hidden around Mossley. Anyone lucky enough to discover one of those will receive a £50 voucher to spend at Cockfields Farm. Children who find a sunflower are asked to have a parent with them when collecting their prize.

There is also the chance to find envelopes containing cash, hidden at various locations around the town, giving successful hunters some extra spending money.

The hunt is intended to provide some simple community fun and give families an opportunity to get outdoors and explore Mossley together. Participants are asked to claim only one find, helping to ensure that as many people as possible get the chance to take part.

Those who make a discovery are also encouraged to take photographs and share them on Facebook, tagging the funeral service in.

The Daisy Hunt is part of a programme of community activities organised by Anthony Barton throughout the year, which has also included themed hunts for Easter, Halloween, and Christmas.

Searchers are reminded to stay safe, keep out of private property, and never put themselves in danger while looking for the hidden prizes.
