Make every penny count with Tameside libraries' new Helping Hand workshops

Batch cooking to save money, Christmas presents on a budget, and advice on mending clothing are part of the new series of workshops coming to Ashton Library.

Tameside Council is inviting residents to come along to the free workshops and events to receive support and advice around financial difficulties.

Ashton Library will be hosting a range of engaging workshops to help with financial skills and budgeting, as well as saving money on shopping and cooking, mending, and upcycling. There will also be regular drop-ins and pop-up stalls from local support organisations.

The programme, which is funded through the Crisis and Resilience Fund, was initially available to a targeted audience and has now been opened to the wider public.

All workshops are free, but booking is essential due to limited places. Click here to book. Booking opens two weeks before each session:

We know many residents will benefit from these sessions, which are a great addition to the activities and support already available through our libraries.”
