Visitors got crafty at two special creative days in Mossley recently.
Arts and crafts well-being group ReCreate Mossley held two free sustainable crafting sessions as part of The Great Big Green Week at the community garden at Mossley’s football ground Seel Park.
Led by local artist Gordon Banks, visitors discovered how to make bird, bee and bug houses from re-purposed materials to increase bio-diversity in the community garden and their own gardens.
Anna Oliva, from ReCreate Mossley, said: “We got some new to crafting who learnt useful woodworking skills and some new to sustainable crafting - making or using old or reclaimed materials (they’ll never walk past a skip again!) so it was all good stuff.

“The workshops were part of The Great Big Green Week - a nationwide celebration of action on climate change, taking place across the UK and were supported by Mossley AFC and HS Polymer Reprocessing Ltd.
“As well as re-purposing materials that might otherwise have been thrown away, we hope our bird, bee and bug houses will attract wildlife into the community garden and into people’s own gardens increasing the bio diversity in our local green spaces.”
