Polebank Hall was rated Good in all five areas by the Care Quality Commission, in its first full assessment since 2017.
Polebank Hall Residential Care Home in Gee Cross, Hyde, has been rated Good in every area by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the independent regulator of health and social care in England. The report, published on 18 September 2026, rates the home Good for being safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led.
The assessment took place between the 12th and 26th of August and included two visits to the home. Inspectors spoke with people living at Polebank Hall, their relatives and staff, including the registered manager and deputy manager.
The report records that residents and relatives spoke positively about their care, describing staff as "caring, respectful and responsive". Inspectors found that staff understood each person's preferences and were committed to care built around the individual.
Polebank Hall cares for up to 29 older people, many living with dementia or memory loss, in a historic house set in parkland in Gee Cross.
Sarah Benson, Registered Manager at Polebank Hall, said:
"I'm incredibly proud of the whole team. This Good rating across every area reflects the care, commitment and hard work people bring to the home every day. Everyone has played a part, and I want to thank them for continuing to put our residents at the heart of everything we do. It's a result we can all be proud of."
