Four men were taken to hospital after a car crashed near Audenshaw tram stop following a police pursuit last night (Wednesday).
Two men were left seriously injured, while the driver and a third passenger are understood to have suffered minor injuries. Their ages are as yet unknown.
The car was believed to have been travelling at high speed before colliding with street signage close to the tram stop, which occurred at around 11.35pm, and was left badly damaged.
The four men were cut out of the wreckage by firefighters from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service and taken to hospital.
Manchester Road was closed between Snipe Way and Droylsden Road while emergency services were in attendance, before re-opening at around 5am this morning (Thursday).
Greater Manchester Police say a police pursuit ensued after officers followed a car near Manchester city centre.
The force say enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
