The production company Element Pictures, who created the award-winning series 'Normal People', are currently filming their next television series in Hattersley.
Camera crews descended on Rowlinson's Construction Site on Beaufort Road when filming began at 7am this morning (Monday 4 September).
'The Listeners' will be released on BBC early next year. The 4-part drama, based on the popular novel of the same name, will tell the story of a family torn apart by a mother's obsession with a sound that no one else can hear.
Element Pictures have reserved parking on the street to help facilitate their filming vehicles.
In a letter to local residents they said: "If you don't have access to a driveway, please could you favour parking on additional streets other than Beaufort Road itself, especially near to the entrance to the building site.
"The road will in no way be blocked, any resident access will remain fully at all times. During filming we try and impact the surrounding areas as little as possible."
