Emergency services responded to a call out near Winslow Avenue in Broadbottom earlier this morning following reports of a person in the water.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “At just after 11am on Tuesday 4 March fire crews were called to Winslow Avenue in Mottram following reports of a person in the water.
“Two fire engines from Stalybridge and Hyde fire stations attended the incident to assist colleagues from Greater Manchester Police and the North West Ambulance Service. Crews treated one person for cold water shock.
“Firefighters were in attendance for approximately 45 minutes.”
