A Dukinfield man has been charged with drugs offences and being in possession of a knife.

James Young, 31, has been charged with possession with intent to supply both Class A and Class B drugs, and possession of a bladed article in a public place.

He's been remanded into police custody to appear at Tameside Magistrates' Court today (Wednesday).

Whilst investigating unrelated matters in the Dukinfield area, police noticed the occupants of a vehicle acting 'suspiciously'.

When conducting a search, the suspect was found to be in possession of Class A and Class B drugs, as well as a knife.

Police said that follow-up searches resulted in them finding further drugs.
